日本では安倍政権が「女性の活用」を成長戦略のひとつとして掲げ、国家公務員の採用者に占める女性の割合を30%以上に引き上げる方針を示しています。

また、9月に行った内閣改造でも、全閣僚の26%にあたる5人の女性が入閣しています。

では日本よりも女性の社会進出が進んでいるイメージがあるアメリカの実情はどうなのでしょうか？

"diversity"という考え方には、受容と尊重が含まれています。

それはつまり、人はみな違う存在であるということを理解して、その違いを認識するということです。

ここでいう違いには、人種、民族、性別、性的指向、社会的経済的状況、年齢、身体能力、宗教、政治的信念やその他のイデオロギーなどがあります。

これを見るとやはり、"diversity"という単語は社会的平等という文脈で使われる単語だということが言えそうですね。
